How to Install on Newer Machines

If not already slipstreamed, download Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 and slipstream manually or using nLite
Partition and Format your Hard Drive (if ≥128GB, use this alternate SETUPREG.HIV file and replace the existing one in the I386 folder or simply install on a primary partition of <128GB; if necessary, slipstream your AHCI/RAID drivers or the UniATA driver to provide AHCI or RAID support, either through an F6 floppy disk or slipstreaming via nLite)
Start setup, format hard drive using NTFS, customize settings as needed
Install drivers once Windows gets to desktop for first time, reboot as needed
Install Update Rollup 1 v2 and reboot
If you are using a dual-core or hyperthreading processor such as a Core 2 Duo or Pentium 4 HT, install this registry patch
Install Root Certificates Update (required to receive updates, etc.)
Install DirectX 9.0C (February 2010 release), Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1, Windows Media Player 9
Install Windows Installer 3.1, BITS 2.0 update and Windows Update Agent 3.0 in order to receive updates in Windows 2000
Sit back and wait as Windows 2000 installs updates as necessary
Optional: Install KB2722913 update, KernelEx (allows certain XP+ programs to run on Win2K), Internet Explorer 6.0 SP3, Windows Media Player 10
